Local Community Presentations
 

Hatchlings To WaterTo increase public awareness and to support local beach communities, WIMARCS provides local community presentations to make the public more aware of the plight and importance of sea turtles as well instructions on properly responding to an adult or hatchling sighting.

The key to protection and conservation is to increase knowledge.  These presentations are designed to give basic turtle activity, nest, and hatchling information to the layman.

 
Presentation topics include:
  • Overview of West Indies Sea Turtles
  • Current status of the West Indies Sea Turtles
  • Nesting habits and behaviors
  • What to do if you see a turtle
  • Hatchling emergences
  • What to do if you see a hatchling
  • Light pollution
  • What you can do to help
