WIMARCS was created in 2004 to develop a support system for research and conservation projects and programs that protect and conserve marine animals.  Through education, support groups, and awareness, WIMARCS will assist our community, students, researchers, and government agencies in conserving our marine environment.

Steve Garner (WIMARCS)Steve Garner, Executive Director of WIMARCS, has owned a business in St. Croix for over 9 years.  Steve has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and has over 18 years of project management and engineering experience.  His devotion to the marine environment started in 1998 as owner of Scubawest Dive Shop in St. Croix and has continued as project manager of the WIMARCS Sea Turtle programs.

Jeanne Garner (WIMARCS)Jeanne Garner, WIMARCS Director of Research, is currently working on her PhD in Wildlife and Fisheries sciences at Texas A&M University.  She holds a Master of Science in Marine Biology from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Cornell University.  Jeanne has been the Principal Investigator and Project Coordinator for the Leatherback Turtle Project at Sandy Point since 2002 and specializes in nutritional biology of marine animals.

Lea Ann Robson, Treasurer of WIMARCS, has been financial manager for over 10 years and has owned and operated her own bookkeeping business since 1996.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Marshall University.  Lea Ann has been dedicated to supporting the environmental and cultural diversities of St. Croix since 1993.

Jeremy Conrad, Field Director and Biological Technician, is currently working on his Master of Science in Marine Biology at Florida Atlantic University.  Jeremy has been a field leader on the Leatherback Turtle Project at Sandy Point since 2003 and was appointed Field Director in 2006.
